Physical characteristics:
This perennial grows to approximately 20 cm in height. The leaves are fully divided four times in a pinnate arrangement, with the ultimate segments being linear and 1–3 mm in width. The flowers appear in clusters at the tips of branches, typically numbering around ten. The inflorescence has linear involucral bracts and smaller bractlets.

Japanese name origin:
“Hime” means “small.” The name comes from the flower’s resemblance to carrots in the same family and its discovery on Mount Shirane.
